Their conversation continued across Tuesday's show and the pair locking horns certainly captured the attention of TV viewers at home.

Piers' show kicked off with a storming start in the ratings - topping BBC and Sky News combined after its first night.

Now, Piers has unlocked another feat by finishing up its first week in the top spot across the board.

He shared the "bonkers" news on Twitter and thanked fans for supporting him.

"UPDATE: ⁦@PiersUncensored⁩ ended its launch week at No1 in its UK slot last night - beating BBC News, Sky News & GB News," Piers wrote.

"If someone had told me we’d achieve that in week one, on a brand new network, I’d have said they were bonkers! Thanks for watching…"

Piers exploded back onto our TV screens on Monday with his new show, airing in the UK, US and Australia.

He opened by issuing an "urgent trigger warning" to "woke snowflakes", and warned the permanently offended they would not enjoy the show.

And on Tuesday he said was "making TV history" as he declared a ratings triumph.

He said his launch show fulfilled his promise to "annoy all the right people" and boasted how he made headlines around the world, as well as beating the combined UK ratings of his rivals.

His sensational Trump interview dominated the first two shows of his weekday programme.

The pair covered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Ukraine war and the US election.

Mr Trump gave his biggest hint yet he could run for President again in 2024, but sensationally walked off set when tensions rose over his refusal to accept the 2020 result.

Piers has also secured the first interview with Tyson Fury since his big win at Wembley at the weekend and also chatted exclusively to Olympic champion, Caitlyn Jenner.

He also chatted to US star Tucker Carlson, 52, about Trump, Twitter and free speech.

Piers officially "uncancelled" Sharon Osbourne, 69, after she opened up to him about being a victim of cancel culture.

She said: "I must have cried for three months. I never stopped crying.

"The comments coming through on social media were so horrific about cutting my throat, my husband's, even the dogs.

"They wanted to kill my dogs. Then they started on Ozzy. I thought 'this is just insanity'."
