Alan Carr breaks silence on divorce from husband Paul after 14 years on ITV’s Lorraine
ALAN Carr has revealed the reason behind his divorce from husband of 14 years Paul Drayton.
The comedian, 45, announced his devastating break-up in January shortly before going on tour.
Appearing on Lorraine Kelly's show today Alan was asked about the split saying: "Oh me and Paul, 14 years-"
"That's a long time," Lorraine quipped while Alan joked: "Which in gay years, is 207 years!"
He continued: "I wrote the tour, and then our marriage broke down during Covid, because it was so stressful, everything ...
"And then I was going on stage and I was just like, 'Well this doesn't make sense, this doesn't make sense.'

"So we're divorced now, he's excited about the future, I'm excited about the future.
"We're still always going to be friends because we've been through so much together."
The funnyman and the party planner released a joint statement in January to confirm they were ending their three-year marriage.
The official announcement for the pair explained: "After 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton would like to announce they are separating.
"They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways.
"We request that their privacy is respected at this sensitive time."
It was later reported that the relationship never recovered after Paul shared a photo of his black eye on social media and claimed “we had a row”.
Alan believed Paul's Instagram post, shared last April, risked running his career and was the “final straw”.
At the time Paul deleted the shocking image as Alan insisted he was not responsible for the injury and Paul publicly apologised.
Alan also revealed that Paul — who went into rehab following their wedding in 2018 — had gone back on the booze, with Paul checking back into rehab following their split.
