"I promised to annoy all the right people and we are off to a flying start."

It came after Prime Minister Boris Johnson told TalkTV's Tom Newton Dunn: "We love Piers."

Piers also hailed Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter as a "great day for free speech".

He then moved into the second part of his interview with Donald Trump.

It started with the former US President praising The Queen.

Mr Trump said: "The Queen has never made a mistake. Some of the kids make a mistake every little while.

"My mother had tremendous love for the Queen."

And he called the Prince Andrew scandal a "terrible thing for a lot of people".

Piers also showed the moment Donald Trump walks offset "completely uncensored", adding: "We usually would have cut this out.

"It's quite fun to watch what going on behind the scenes."

They discussed Trump achieving a hole-in-one when the interview is cut off and Piers said: "That was a great interview.";

Trump replied: "Yeah, it was fine." He got up before barking: "Turn the cameras off."

Piers' unfiltered show landed more viewers on average than all other channels combined when it launched last night.

It celebrated 588,000 in total tuning in on linear TV platforms, including a repeat.

His 8-9pm show raked in 317,000 viewers, which was the total of BBC, Sky and GB News' ratings altogether.

It made TalkTV the most-watched news channel across its three hours of peak primetime with 809,000 viewers tuning in.

The Sun's deputy TV editor Felicity Cross said Piers was "in his element, leading his army of anti-woke warriors", adding: "There was a sense of humour to it."

Tom Newton-Dunn opened TalkTV's second night with an interview with Prime Minister Boris Johnson on his current affairs show The News Desk.

They covered the war in Ukraine, the cost of living crisis, civil servants working from home and partygate fines.

Last night Piers quizzed Trump on Russia, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the 2024 US election.

Trump accused Harry of being "whipped like no person I've ever seen" and gave his biggest hint yet he will run again for President.

Piers opened his much-anticipated show last night by issuing an "urgent trigger warning" to "woke snowflakes".

He told the "permanently offended" they will not enjoy the programme as he pledged to stand up for free speech.

Referencing Nelson Mandela as he launched his show last night, he said: "It's been a long walk to freedom of speech."

He added: "I want to issue an urgent trigger warning for all ultra sensitive, permanently offended woke snowflakes who may have accidentally tuned into this show.

"You are not going to enjoy my show. It's going to really annoy you.

"It may even evoke trauma because I'm going to be celebrating the one thing you can't abide: free speech.

"And that's real free speech. Not your kind of free speech where only your opinions are allowed and anyone with a different opinion has to be shamed, abused and cancelled, their careers and reputations destroyed.
