JAYNE'S IRON SIDE

Jayne Torvill left stunned after discovering she is related to West Ham football legend in ITV’s DNA Journey

WHEN Dancing On Ice judge and Olympic skater Jayne Torvill took part in DNA Journey, she didn’t expect to discover several sporty relatives – including her cousin Charlie Walker.

The footballer is among the pantheon of West Ham legends, which includes Sir Bobby Moore, for captaining the Irons when they won the War Cup – the wartime equivalent of the FA Cup – in 1940.

His mum left the family home when he was a boy – and it turns out he now has many relations in Utah where his relatives moved as part of the Mormon faith.

A source said: “Towie is coming back with a bang.

“It’s been months in the planning and all the details were signed off today.

“It is the most flash trip they’ve ever done, but given that they have spent the last two years on home soil, the bosses wanted to give the stars and the fans a treat – though not everyone is going to get a ticket.

The Gavin & Stacey actor was at a party where Sir Michael was holding court – but he wasn’t waxing lyrical about life in Hollywood. Instead, he was moaning about the bins.

In a Bill Bailey interview on YouTube, Rob said: “I was hoping it would be tales of the Riviera with Roger Moore or life in Hollywood.

“And I swear to God he was saying, ‘You put ’em out on a Thursday night, they’re still there Saturday morning, and they haven’t sorted the plastic from the cardboard’.”
