Piers Morgan reignites feud with rival Dan Walker after star quits BBC for Channel 5
PIERS Morgan has reignited his ongoing feud with Dan Walker after the star quit BBC Breakfast for Channel 5.
The TalkTV host and Sun columnist, 57, enjoyed some friendly rivalry with fellow journalist Dan, 45, after he teased his big-money move to Channel 5 news.
The star, who has hosted BBC Breakfast since 2016, will be hosting the channel's revamped 5 News, as well as a number of other shows for the broadcaster.
Meanwhile, Piers' new show Piers Morgan Uncensored, is set to launch on April 25 at 8pm, and will be a "fearless forum" that will take on cancel culture.
Ahead of the launch, Piers was asked about his and Dan's healthy rivalry.
Piers replied: “Dan who? Hasn’t he disappeared to Channel 5 or something. He disappeared with his tail between his legs after we beat him in the ratings.

“It was actually quite priceless as we beat the BBC on my last day [on ITV ’s Good Morning Britain] so he couldn’t ever do anything about it.
“He could never beat us again. Anyway, best wishes to Dan. I hope he enjoys Channel 5. Is that still on TV?
"Apparently, yes.”
The pair's ongoing feud stems from when they both hosted breakfast shows, with the pair regularly exchanging barbs on social media.

Dan will be hosting alongside Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije and has taken over from Sian Williams.
The star presented BBC Breakfast for six years after replacing Bill Turnbull in 2016.
He had previously fronted Breakfast with Louise Minchin, who departed in September 2021.
Meanwhile Piers is set to return to our screens next week as celebrates free speech and the right for people to share their views - even if they ruffle feathers.
Piers said: “I’m delighted to now be returning to live television with a new daily show whose main purpose is to cancel the Cancel Culture which has infected societies around the world.
"I want it to be a platform for lively vigorous debate, news-making interviews, and that increasingly taboo three-letter word: fun. I also want it to annoy all the right people.”
Meanwhile his former Britain's Got Talent co-star Sharon Osbourne will be presenting a new hour-long panel debate show.
It will bring together five opinionated famous faces - all from different backgrounds and with differing views - to debate the most interesting stories of the day.
Covering topics from the UK and around the world, the panellists will serve up their outspoken views in an honest and straight-talking debate.
After months of speculation about Piers' next move, last September the star announced he was joining The Sun and its parent company News Corp in an unprecedented global deal.
Piers recently treated fans to a first look inside his state-of-the-art new TalkTV studio ahead of his telly return.
He is chomping at the bit to get back on air where he'll express strong opinions and hold robust debates.
On March 9, 2021 Piers dramatically stormed off the set after he was slated by co-star Alex Beresford for his comments towards Meghan Markle, leading him to quit the show.
The TV host got into a heated arguement about the Duchess of Sussex's claims to have had issues with her mental health.
Piers claimed he was "sickened" by Meghan for "trashing" the Royal Family as "white supremacists" during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Since quitting Good Morning Britain, the show has failed to reach the ratings high he delivered, with the series beating BBC Breakfast for the first time on his final broadcast.
GMB has also struggled to find a high profile replacement for him, instead using a rotating roster of male hosts to sit alongside his former co-star Susanna Reid.
They include hosts Richard Madeley, Adil Ray, Martin Lewis, and Ed Balls.
Piers revealed that Susanna, 51, who remains on GMB, is yet to wish him good luck with the new show.
He said: “There’s still time, I’m sure she will.
“It’s difficult.
“You know, we had this arranged marriage that turned out to be very successful.
“And then we suddenly got divorced one afternoon. That was it.

“So we stay in touch through texting and stuff but it was all a bit dramatic and sad.”
The new global show fronted by the former Good Morning Britain presenter, will go to air with the UK launch of TalkTV on linear TV platforms Sky, Virgin Media, Freeview and Freesat.
