Who is MasterChef finalist Pookie?
AMAZING the judges with her underwater dish, Pookie secured her spot in the semi-finals of MasterChef 2022.
Birmingham chef Pookie reduced Gregg Wallace to tears with her response to being selected for the semi-finals - and now she's made the final.
Who is Pookie
Pookie, 45, showcased her seafood dish called Shallow Sea-Bed Life which included a starfish made from prawns, much to viewers' delight.
The beauty salon owner from Solihull grew up in Bangkok before moving to the UK after earning her degree.
While she has Thai-Chinese heritage she said she does not limit herself to Thai-Chinese food.
Pookie said: "I like cooking international foods but love introducing my own style with all the foods I’ve cooked.

"Most of all I want my food to be flavoursome, delicious, fun and put a smile on people’s faces."
She was encouraged by friends to enter the cooking competition because her style is "very unique"
"I’d never really thought I was good enough to enter a competition such as that, but one day I just decided to go for it," she said.
"I’m not super competitive but I love cooking, so I will give it a go, have fun and who knows how far it will take me! I’d like to show the world my Pookie Style."

The 18th series of the competition kicked off on March 30 with 45 talented cooks hoping become the winner of Masterchef 2022.
