Who is MasterChef semifinalist Sarah Rankin?

THIS Scottish mother has made it through to the semi-finals of Masterchef 2022.

Beating numerous other contestants to the Masterchef semi-finals, Sarah Rankin wowed the judges with her Scottish inspired dishes.

Who is Sarah Rankin?

Inverness-born Sarah is a marketing consultant from Kinross in Scotland.

The 47-year-old chef is mother to two children, aged 15 and 11.

When asked about her inspiration, Sarah told the BBC: "Both my mother and grandmother are great cooks.

"My mum was the one who taught me how to cook initially and my grandmother was a great baker and made the best homemade chips!

"I feel like they both still inspire the dishes I cook today in their own way."

She often uses Scottish ingredients in her recipes and said that a fear of failure had stopped her from applying for Masterchef sooner.

So far there are five semi-finalists that have been named alongside Sarah.

They are all fighting it out to win a place in the MasterChef 2022 final.

The final nine contestants compete this week in an attempt to win the trophy.

This year, the programme has taken on a different format as each week nine home cooks try to impress the judges.

The 18th series of the competition kicked off on March 30 with 45 talented cooks hoping become the winner of Masterchef 2022.
