A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton reveals the toughest part of her job – and it’s not what you would expect

A PLACE in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton has revealed the toughest part of her Channel 4 job which will surprise fans.

The property expert, who has been a regular on the show since 2011, said the weather can be a total washout sometimes which makes house hunting a nightmare.

Speaking from Italy, Laura admitted her co-star Jasmine Harman has also experienced the same problem in Spain.

“It’s actually happening a little bit at the moment,” Laura told the .

The TV favourite, 39, continued: “In fact, I just got a text message from Jas [Harman] and she said to me, ‘Oh, no, it’s really raining in Spain, what’s the weather like where you are in Italy?’

“And I’m like, ‘you know, it’s not been much better, to be honest’.

“We’ve had like a few weeks [of bad weather] and that that does make it hard when you’re tired and you’re trying to show people properties on A Place in the Sun and then it’s not sunny.”

Despite the occasional wet weather, the Laura said her job has plenty of perks.

She added: “But you know, if that’s the hardship of it, then it’s not really hard.

“Because you’re still getting to travel and explore and meet people and stuff.

“So I think we’ve just been a little bit unfortunate in the last couple of weeks, but most of the time the sun is shining.”

It comes after Laura shared a snap of herself in tiny hotpants as she enjoyed her holiday to Celebrate her forthcoming 40th birthday.

Laura looked incredible dressed in the white shorts, which included a black belt.

She is enjoyed a much needed break following the break up of her marriage to husband Alex Goward.

In an interview with , Laura confessed: “There have been times I have been so overwhelmed with sadness.”

She said of their split: “It was a chapter of my life that I am now closing, and I have so many happy memories.

“I am very much someone who believes in focusing on the future, not having regrets, and I want to be positive for my children.”

Laura married insurance broker Alex in 2012 – three years after they started dating.

They share two children together, eight-year-old Rocco and a daughter Tahlia, six.

‘DIFFERENT PATHS’

Candidly addressing the reason for the split, she told the publication: “It was a decision we both came to. We have an enormous amount of respect for each other, but we are now on different paths.

“At the point it was announced, we’d already overcome a lot of difficult times.

“But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children’s happiness will always be our priority.”
