Coronation Street bosses haul in Simon Gregson over drunken Aintree antics as he apologises to co-stars
CORRIE bosses have given off-the-rails Simon Gregson a slap on the wrist in an emergency meeting over his recent behaviour.
The star, who earns £150,000 a year to play Steve McDonald, was quizzed by police after a bust-up in a Toby Carvery near Aintree racecourse following Ladies Day last Friday.
It came just days after he was kicked out a club for dancing on a table topless while hurling abuse at staff.
Now producers of the ITV soap have read Simon, 47, the riot act.
A source told The Sun: “Simon is one of Corrie’s longest-serving stars and is loved on set, but that doesn’t mean he has carte blanche to behave however he likes.
“Bosses have told Simon his recent behaviour is not ok and it’s not a good look for the soap.

“They’ve warned him to clean up his act.
“Simon apologised and told them he’d be on his best behaviour from now on.”
A police spokesman said of the incident: “We can confirm Merseyside Police were in attendance at the Rocking Horse pub on Grand National Avenue.
“At around 9.20pm we received a report two men were involved in an altercation inside the pub.
“No injuries were reported and the victim declined to make a formal complaint to police. Inquiries are ongoing.”

Earlier this month Gregson was reportedly asked to leave co-star Alexandra Mardell’s leaving do when he took his shirt off and danced on furniture in a nightclub.
A Coronation Street spokesman did not respond to request for comment.
