PILGRIMAGE viewers were left heartbroken as Scarlett Moffatt broke down in tears and opened up about "dark times" on the BBC show.
The former Gogglebox star, 31, became emotional as she called out the rest of the group for making "irrelevant" jokes during their trek through Donegal, Ireland.
Over two weeks, the pilgrims will follow in the footsteps of the sixth century Irish monk, Saint Columba.
During a discussion with Changing Rooms star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Scarlett admitted that she never feels alone because of her strong faith in Christianity.
She said: "I think it's a lovely feeling that I never feel alone, even when I've felt my loneliest because I know there is always somebody there who cares."
But Laurence confessed that he didn't share the same beliefs and preferred to think of life as "mechanical".

The group then came across one of the 15 places where pilgrims could stop and pray, this one was called the Stone of Gathering and was thought to be early Christian, from between 500 and 700 AD.
As the team deliberated when it was invented, Scarlett was fascinated by the stone and immediately said a prayer.
She told Emmerdale star Louisa Clein: "I don't care when it was invented, I'm getting my little cross out and I'm going to do it.
"I got this in Jerusalem, it makes me feel safe.
"You know, especially when I'm away from my family."

But the other pilgrims' were less inclined to do the same.
The Podcaster took herself off to have some alone time and broke down in tears.
Speaking to the camera, an emotional Scarlett said: "I just sometimes...I think the chat's a little bit...a bit much.
"It just feels like, you known, when we're talking about the dates and I think sometimes we talk about irrelevant stuff.
"Like, religion most of the time is a feeling really. Well, for me it is anyway."
Wiping away her tears, she said: "It's fine, I just needed a little moment."
After she re-joined the group, Scarlett opened up about her faith.
Laurence expressed: "I think Scarlett is probably the most moved."
The Podcaster agreed, saying: "Yeah, I'm probably going to star crying, and I'm so sorry if I do.
"Like I get we can have a joke and thinks like that, but sometimes, I don't know, it's a little bit upsetting when jokes are being made because I'm quite a sensitive person."
Louise admitted that she found it "beautiful" seeing Scarlett connect will with her spiritual side and former Countdown star Nick Hewer asked if the team had been "too jokey", with Scarlett breaking down and admitting they may have overstepped the mark.
"I think it's actually more than what I though actually, I didn't think I would get upset over it and stuff," Scarlett explained.
"But yeah, I am quite a positive person but I've still been through really dark times and without Him I thought I probably wouldn't have got through.
"It's making me realise that I am a little bit more religious than I though I was actually."
Viewers were gutted to see the telly favourite in tears and took to Twitter to praise her for bravely expressing herself.
One wrote: "Love how Scarlett is looking after everyone, questioning things, sharing her views and keen to learn about the worldviews of others, she's brilliant!"
Another posted: "Isn't Scarlett Moffatt just brilliant! Such a genuinely likeable woman - coming across as really warm and lovely on #Pilgrimage"
A third said: "Scarlett Moffatt is the sweetest, savviest, strongest, most vulnerable, most polite, most interested and interesting, honest pilgrim on this show. #Pilgrimage"
"When Scarlett said 'for me religion is a feeling' - So heartfelt and a moment of truth for many," a fourth tweeted.
Another added: "I don't know why some of the travellers are doing the #Pilgrimage as they are very sniffy and looking down on religion and that hurt Scarlett."
Scarlett recently said the experience helped her embrace her Christian faith more fully.
She said: “I’ve always been religious.
"I do feel like there is quite a stigma attached to it — like it’s not cool and you don’t want to come across like you are preaching.
