EastEnders’ Jean Slater in danger as she disappears during manic episode

JEAN Slater's struggle with her bipolar disorder is becoming increasingly clear to Eastenders fans.

The cleaner played by Gillian Wright was seen getting into a taxi for an unknown destination during last night's episode.

There's trouble in paradise for Jean and her partner Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) as her manic behaviour could put her in serious danger.

After propositioning a stunned Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) in the Queen Vic toilets, Jean was back to being cheerful as she baked dozens of hot cross buns at Harvey's flat.

Her daughter Stacey (Lacey Turner) has been picking up on the worrying signs in recent weeks, while Jean insists she's having some harmless fun, and decided to call her brother Sean.

Actor Rob Kazinsky made a surprise appearance as he reprised his role during a video call with his on-screen mother.

However, Jean was having none of it and was irritable during Sean's intervention, immediately brushing off his concerns.

Meanwhile, in the Square, Rocky listened to Harvey chat about his relationship with Jean - and quickly told him about her advances.

Initially in disbelief, Harvey eventually returned home to clear things up with Jean.

But she responded with indifference, chuckling at how mortified Rocky had been at the time.

Harvey's concern grew as Jean pointed out there had been no kissing between her and Rocky and proceeded to berate Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) over her rejection of the former con man.

As he told her they clearly weren't on the same page, Jean had other plans for their relationship and got ready for a night out.

However, Harvey insisted he wouldn't be going anywhere with her as she emerged in her partying outfit and decided a break was due.

"We want such different things all of a sudden," the cabbie said, "and this, it really isn't working out the way I expected."

Jean remained unbothered, stating: "The feeling is mutual, much more incompatible than I thought."

She then headed off to her taxi after advising Harvey to "knock it on the head" and "find someone more appropriate instead."

As she ran towards the vehicle, with a bottle of booze in her hand, she asked her driver to take her "to where the party is at."

Harvey was initially supportive of Jean, believing she was living her life to the fullest and discarding Stacey's worries.

But since the pair rekindled their romance, this is perhaps the first time Harvey has seen the harsh reality of Jean's manic episode.

Spoilers have recently confirmed a dishevelled Jean will be coming home from a stag do - but how does she end up there?

Could she get into more trouble?
