Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson reveals he’s having medical procedure saying ‘it’s not great’

MADE In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson has revealed that he’s having having medical procedure after he developed a small hernia last week.

The Made In Chelsea star, 29, recently underwent blood tests in hospital after struggling with a painful stomach issue.

The TV favourite said that doctors are uncertain if the hernia is the sole cause of his pain and told fans that he would be having a colonoscopy procedure to investigate further.

A colonoscopy is a test to check inside your bowels and can help find what’s causing your bowel symptoms.

A long, thin, flexible tube with a small camera inside it is passed into your bottom – you are usually given laxatives so the bowels are empty for the test.

Ahead of the procedure, Sam filmed girlfriend Zara McDermott mixing the laxatives into a drink.

“This is true love right here, Zara is mixing up my laxatives for my colonoscopy tomorrow – that’s my second dose,” Sam said.

“My bowels have already been emptied, this is my second dose.

“I’m not going to explain what colonoscopy is for people who don’t know what it is – because it’s not great,.

“It’s not something that you’d want but for those who do know, how horrible is this?”

Earlier this week, Love Island star Zara said her boyfriend was so sick that he felt like he was “dying”.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “Just put Sam back to bed…bless his heart he’s so unwell again.”

Sam previously underwent an endoscopy and gave a stool sample which revealed inflammation in his stomach.

Zara continued: “He [doctor] said to come back in a few weeks but in the meantime Sam has gone downhill again. He can barely keep his eyes open, concentrate on anything and he’s losing weight! And also his appetite is not there!

“He has good & bad days. Yesterday was ok but for the last month he’s had stomach pains around his belly button, some have been intense and he was literally like ‘I’m gonna die’ and then the rest of the time it’s a low level pain!”

Sam had been hopeful that some rest and relaxation, as well as some dietary changes, would have him right as rain.

But the illness is proving more problematic.

Zara and Sam shared a selfie from his hospital visit, with her writing on social media: “Had to take this guy to the hospital. He’s not been very well for the past few weeks and we got some complicated blood results back. Hopefully everything will be OK!”

Earlier in the day Sam filmed a video from his bed in which he said his illness “sucks” before revealing he had to give a stool sample.

He said: “Got a really bad stomach.

“I know I’ve got to be an adult about it, but there’s something about having a number two, turning around and scooping it up, putting it in a jar and then placing in front of a doctor’s eyes that is just getting to me.”

Sam has been resting up in the couple’s plush £1million London pad that they recently renovated.

Speaking to The Sun about doing up the house, an overwhelmed Sam said: “That’s been my biggest stress over the past year. I’ve absolutely loved it.

“Genuinely, I walk around the gaff and I have impostor syndrome, like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe I live here’.  

“I actually cried, as lame as that is, when we first moved back in. I can’t believe how awesome it looks. We’re really happy with it. I feel this is a home I can live in, I can maybe bring up kids one day. I feel very proud of it.”

The couple have been together since 2019 and have seen their relationship go from strength to strength following a brief split in 2020.
