Speaking on This Morning today about how faith has always been a huge part of his life, Glyn said: “I grew up in a religious family and I prayed my way onto Big Brother.

"I was asking God can you please just get me into Big Brother.

“I was 16 thinking there must be so much more to life, life is so predestined, school then university and I wanted something so different for me.

“Big Brother was what I wanted and it changed everything.”

Discussing his overnight success after coming in second to Pete Bennett, Glyn told Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary: “It was like jumping into a tornado after Big Brother, I was a life guard on £5 an hour then I was modelling on Calvin Klein and it is just madness.

“Your life transformed overnight. Completely crazy it was.”

The Welshman went to reveal why he has entered the priesthood, explaining: “I went travelling, I did teaching, I taught in China and Christianity is growing a lot in south east Asia and I grew in faith as I travelled around.

“I want to share the faith. With my church in Camden now we are trying to help people, we do soup kitchens and we help sex workers and homeless people.

"I want to make it a safe space for people. It's like free psychiatry.”
