The One Show’s Michelle Ackerley reveals she’s engaged to Benjamin Ryan and flashes diamond ring

THE One Show host Michelle Ackerley has announced she is engaged to her Rugby coach beau Benjamin Ryan.

The TV star took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the happy news with a snap of her huge diamond sparkler.

Michelle, 37, who has hosted a number of BBC shows including The One Show and Watchdog, has been dating Ben, 48, for many years.

The former rugby star used to coach the Fiji National rugby team - helping them scoop a gold medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

On Wednesday, the Loose Women star announced he had finally popped the question as they headed out for a "morning stroll".

Smiling alongside her beau, Michelle held her hand in front of her face as she revealed Ben had got down on one knee in the forest.

"Nipped out for a morning stroll when this happened," she wrote, before wishing her following: "Happy Wednesday!"

The star enthusiastically held up her hand to show off the gold ring, with one round-cut diamond fashioned in the middle.

Friends and fans flooded the comments section to congratulate the couple, who both looked overjoyed by the engagement.

Keeping it casual, Michelle could be seen wearing a denim shirt and puffer coat, tying her hair up under a black scarf.

While Ben wore a black coat and green scarf for the special outing.

Michelle stood in for The One Show host Alex Jones while she was on maternity leave in 2016, and still returns to front occasional editions.

She stood in again for Alex after the presenter confirmed she was expecting baby number two in 2018.

She was later unveiled as one of the hosts on Loose Women in 2020.

Michelle started her TV career on Watchdog in 2013 - and went on to front popular BBC daytime show Council House Crackdown.
