Cara De La Hoyde admits she unfollowed fellow Love Island stars on Instagram after struggling with their ‘perfect lives’
CARA De La Hoyde has ditched "loads" of Love Island stars on social media after getting fed up with their "perfect lives".
The 31-year-old, who together with her now-husband Nathan Massey won the 2016 series of the reality show, said she was fed up of "trying to compete".
Cara now has two young children with Nathan and admits she is often too busy to brush her hair and apply make-up.
Speaking to magazine, Cara adds: "Years ago I was trying to compete with all these young girls who had come off Love Island and I had to say to myself, 'Cara - this is not who you are'.
"I was trying to portray an image that wasn't me to keep up and it was pressurising.
"I unfollowed loads of 'perfect people' showing off their lives because it wasn't helping me in any way."

Cara said it would be "too exhausting" to try and constantly portray a perfect life to her army of 1.1million Instagram followers.
Then aged 26, Cara entered the villa for the second series of ITV2's Love Island in hope of finding love.
She was successful and eventually walked away £50,000 richer and with new boyfriend and fellow winner Nathan on her arm.
The couple welcomed their first child, a son called Freddie-George, the following year and married 17 months later.
