Many viewers were convinced Tina, real name Annastasia, had it wrapped up after opening the show with a rollicking Nutbush City Limits.

Anastasia Baker had Tina's powerful pipes and jerky dance moves down to a tee, but it wasn't enough to beat Cher superfan Rachael Hawnt.

She was lost for words as Olly Murs announced her as the winner of the audience vote.

Regaining her composure, she said: "I feel like I'm in a dream."

Fans at home appreciated her performance but were surprised by the outcome.

One wrote in Twitter: "Cher sounds fab, but Tina had the whole package. Tina is robbed."

Another posted: "So the singer & songwriter won as ChBest act for me was Tina. Best sound alike Cher. #Starstruck. Personally I thought Tina should have won. #Starstruck."

A third said: "Best act for me was Tina. Best sound alike Cher. #Starstruck."

"The winner is Cher? you serious?" said a fourth.

The other finalists were Lionel Richie, Freddie Mercury, Billie Eilish and Barbra Streisand.

Topping off a bumper night of music was a special performance from the four judges and host Olly Murs.

Adam Lambert, Sheridan Smith, Jason Manford, Beverley Knight and Olly grooved to Stevie Wonder's Superstitious, which went down a storm with the audience in the studio and at home.

Chuffed comedian Jason even joked it was like letting Bananaman join the Avengers.
