Will, 45, was joined by his podcast co-star Ralf Little on the show on Friday night as they discussed their ongoing tour around the country.

Chatting about the range of subjects covered by the stage show, things took an emotional turn when Ralf, 42, revealed Will's dad had died.

Bill Mellor tragically passed away in April 2020, just weeks after being diagnosed with cancer, during the height of the pandemic.

Will was unable to be with his grieving family due to restrictions - leaving the actor tearing up as he spoke about it to host Alex Jones.

"He was unbelievably open and genuine in talking about it," his pal Ralf said of the death of Will's father, which has come up in conversation on their UK-wide tour.

Noticing he was welling up as they spoke, show host Alex, 45, comforted him: "I'm so sorry, Will."

Wiping his eye, Will went on: "It was a really hard time...it was a horrible time. He was my hero, there was never going to be a good time.

"I realised at that time if I'm going through this, and it really hit me hard, there must be a lot of people out there...Talking does help."

He went on to encourage other men to open up about their feelings - saying it helped him move on after the loss of his father.

Last year, Will shared a rare photo of his wife Michelle as they enjoyed a luxury holiday together in Gran Canaria.

The 45-year-old actor - who plays villain Harvey Gaskell on ITV's Coronation Street - enjoyed a well-deserved break from the cobbles.

The actor jetted off with his wife Michelle McSween and their kids Renee, 13, and Jayden, 17 - sharing photos of his family.

In January, Will hosted controversial BBC Two docu-series Dubai: Playground Of The Rich, lending his voice to the programme.

Viewers of the BBC Two show were left disgusted, admitting they "switched it off" as they were upset by the extreme displays of wealth.

Will took to Twitter to agree with disgruntled fans as he slammed the programme as "horrible".
