Richard Madeley is a loose cannon on Good Morning Britain with his rants – he has no filter, says Laura Tobin
RICHARD Madeley is a loose cannon on Good Morning Britain with his rants and has no filter, revealed co-star Laura Tobin.
The 40-year-old meteorologist spilled the beans on 65-year-old presenter Richard, who she endearingly called the "crazy uncle" in the GMB family.
Richard, who became newest permanent member of the ITV morning show after TV titan Piers Morgan infamously quit last year, recently hit headlines for his on air arguments with co-host Susanna Reid.
However, weather presenter Laura explained that the long-standing journalist is not afraid to "offend" people and his onscreen rants come from a good place.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Laura said: "Richard is funny, I don’t think he realises he has no filter.
"He just says what he thinks but from the heart and sometimes he goes ‘you know what I was thinking’ and you think ‘no, I don’t know what you were thinking'.

"But then he just says it and I think it’s because he’s been doing it for long enough."
Over the past few weeks fans were convinced that Susanna and Richard had been secretly feuding.
The pair have recently been embroiled in "awkward clashes" while presenting the show together and viewers insisted there is something more going on with the Good Morning Britain presenters than just a difference of opinion.
The pair recently butted heads over Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars.

Laura told us: "He [Richard] doesn’t care if he offends somebody - he kind of politely offends in the way that he does it and he gets the answers you need to have."
Asked if Richard is part of the GMB family, Laura laughed: “He’s like the crazy uncle.”
Laura, who has written a brand-new book, Every Day Ways To Save The Planet, also opened up about her boozy antics on nights out and how she manages to beat the dreaded hangover for her early morning start.
"As long as you eat and have water and a fat coke when I wake up - maybe three or four. You probably have a glass of Champagne and three glasses of wine," Laura told us.
"Food is really important to me and if somebody doesn't eat their food I'll eat their food as well.
"As long as you eat loads of food it doesn't really matter if you drink that much and I always have a massive glass of water beside the bed.
"And if I have a big night, then I'll sleep all day. I pace myself and then I'm up at 4...smashing it."
Laura also revealed that she gets TV ready in just 10 minutes.
She said: "I also love doing hair and makeup and I've whittled it down to 10 minutes now."
The TV favourite shared her her secret behind her glam wardrobe look that fits in with her environmentally friendly ethos.
"We have made a really conscious decision with nearly all the clothes I wear - they are either borrowed and we can send it back. If I go to an event we can hire and I just wear lots of old stuff or sustainable brands," she explained.
"Viewers always see me with a different coat, but I haven't bought any new coats in two years - they are just coats that I wear over and over.
"Actually, fun fact, we wear 20 per cent of our wardrobe 80 per cent of the time."
Discussing teaming up with clothing brands, similar to Molly-Mae Hague and her partnership with PrettyLittleThings, Laura admitted that the brand would have to be sustainable and in line with her beliefs.
"For me specifically I would always make sure we could borrow and give it back or somebody who has sustainable fabrics," the mum-of-one explained.
