Parminder Nagra is set to star as DI Rachita Ray

Parminder Nagra will play the lead role in the ITV series as DI Rachita Ray.

Parminder is best known for starring in Bend It Like Beckham, ER and The Blacklist.

On filming for the series, she shared: “I am so looking forward to getting back to the UK after such a challenging time globally to be part of this exciting new project.

“We are being helmed by an amazing team to bring something special to our storytelling landscape.”

Sam Baker-Jones as DCI Liam Payne

Sam first appeared on screens in 2017 in the TV series Doctors where he played the character Jenseen Reece.

He has also appeared in BBC’s Noughts and Crosses where he played Scott in four episodes.

Sam will play the character DCI Liam in ITV’s DI Ray alongside Parminder Nagra.

Maanuv Thiara

Maanuv Thiara is set to appear in DI Ray however, his role is currently unconfirmed.

He has appeared in a handful of screenplays such as Line of Duty and one episode of Brassic.

Fans may also recognise Maanuv from his roles in Casualty and Landscapers in 2021.

Ezra Faroque Khan as Dev Ray

Ezra Faroque Khan will appear in the show as Dev Ray.

His first screenplay appearance came after he secured a role in Melvin Goes to Dinner back in 2003.

Marvel fans may recognise Ezra from Doctor Strange in which he played Kamar-Taj Librarian in 2016.

He has also appeared in episodes of Three Girls, Ransom, Berlin Station, EastEnders, The Serpent and Vera.

Taru Devani as Darshan

Taru Devani is set to play the character of Darshan in two episodes of DI Ray.
