Kate Garraway ‘terribly sad’ as she shuts down husband Derek Draper’s company with £200k debt as he’s unable to work
KATE Garraway has shut down her husband Derek Draper's company after it racked up nearly £200,000 of debt when he was left unable to work.
The former spin doctor's psychotherapy company, Astra Aspera Ltd, owes £184,000 — including £125,000 in taxes — and a liquidator has been appointed to break up the firm's assets.
A friend of the family told : "It's terribly sad, but Derek can't work and has no prospect of being able to do so in the near future, so Kate thought it best to close it down."
, 54, was appointed director last year after Derek Draper, also 54, was hit with Covid at the start of the pandemic in 2020.
He spent over a year in hospital after contracting Covid before finally returning home to be cared for by his GMB star wife and their children.
Kate revealed she secretly flew Derek to North America for a ground-breaking medical trial in November.

The GMB star pursued the trip when a world-renowned US doctor contacted her after seeing Derek’s plight on TV.
But she said in January Derek is phenomenally fatigued and very weak, and could die within days if left on his own.
The TV star last year won an NTA gong for her documentary Finding Derek and her follow up Caring For Derek aired earlier this year.
She is set to dig even deeper in the new series of DNA Journeys.
