The contestants will face a series of brutal challenges and speaking to The Sun's TV Mag, Gordon revealed how one task in particular left one person in a spot of trouble.

He said: "There’s one on a highwire with three tents dangling down 1,000 feet above these canyons.

"That was for the volunteer mountain rescue teams – when they go on those missions, they’re eating ‘grab and go’. So this was giving them something hearty."

Gordon explained that the challenge was about "improvisation".

He continued: "I wanted to get them comfortable with being uncomfortable, stuck in the a**e end of nowhere on the side of a mountain.

"They had to cleverly conceptualise the dish, then heave all those ingredients and utensils up that mountain and being smart with it."

The dish had to suit being kept in a hotbox for six to seven hours and had to be delivered across a tightrope.

Gordon said: "There was a strange mess coming down the inside of one of the contestant’s legs, and it smelled rather f***ing pungent… so one can classify that as s****ing himself walking across that rope."

The contestants also face a terrifying cliff jump and explaining the reasons behind it, Gordon said: "Those young guns behind you are desperate for your job.

"I can see a lot of hunger and determination in these little f***ers who want to be where I am, but taking a leap of faith in them, I wanted them to take a leap of faith in me.

"Confidence and trust in business is crucial. And I need to be different, right?
