Kathryn, who will compete for Lord Sugar’s investment on Thursday night, was first challenged about the eerily similar designs on last week’s semi final show.

Interviewer Linda Plant asked the Swindon-born entrepreneur if she had designed the pyjamas she sells online herself — after insisting she had, Linda showed the contestant an identical pair from an “online retailer” forcing Kathryn to back down.

Linda said: "Did you design the prints?" and Kathryn replied: "I didn't design the prints, no."

Linda pushed: "In your business plan you say you designed the prints.

"But actually this was bought from a high street store, and I would say it is pretty identical.

"So let's be honest, have you designed anything? Just give me a 'yes' or 'no' answer, did you design anything?"

Kathryn said: "No."

Feeding back on her brutal interview to Apprentice candidates Stephanie and Brittany, Kathryn later said: "I'm in shock.

"She got out the same print, basically my pyjamas, and put them on the table. And she said 'well you're not unique.' That was savage."

When contacted by The Sun, a spokesperson for My Everyday Pyjamas said: “As a small business we pride ourselves on offering high quality, ethically-sourced, matching pyjama sets for customers at a competitive price.”

Kathryn's other competitors include Cyberjammies, where a shorts and top nightwear set sells for £36.

The Apprentice star's firm provides matching pyjama sets for the whole family, including dogs.

Kathryn, who has a secret reality TV past, set up her small business a year before she applied for the show using stock from China, and had already shifted an impressive 80,000 pieces on her own.
