Emmerdale fans break down in tears over April Windsor’s heartbreaking words about dad Marlon

EMMERDALE viewers have broken down in tears after April Windsor revealed her torment over dad Marlon Dingle following his stroke.

The schoolgirl - who is played by actress Amelia Flanagan in the ITV soap - broke down over fears she would lose her dad and be left an orphan.

April demanded to see her dad in the hospital before his surgery.

Walking in, she went to her dad and told him: “I don’t know what to say but you would, you always do. 

“I love you isn’t enough. That’s what I say when you drop me off at school, or when you used to read me a bedside story. 

“Not when it might be… I never got to tell mum how much she meant to me, now I can’t even tell you. I’m so sorry dad.”

Later April lashed out at Mary for saying “tomorrow’s another day” and revealed why it was so upsetting to her.

“It’s my dad’s birthday and you keep saying tomorrow’s another day,” she said. 

“My mum died the day after my birthday. 

“I wanted to tell dad how much he meant to me but I couldn’t do it. I thought I might never see him again.”

“Dad could still die or maybe he couldn’t look after us anymore.”

Rhona couldn’t speak so Mary told her that no matter what they will always be there for her as a family.

The scenes left viewers in floods of tears.

One wrote: "oh April this is heartbreaking."

A second said: "Not me in tears at April’s words. Hits so close to home.

Another added: "April & Marlon, my heart just can't take it!!"

Later there was good news with Marlon’s surgery going well - but the doctor warned they have a long road ahead of them.

“The surgery went well,” the doctor said.

“We managed to remove the clot in its entirety. 

“He’s in recovery now. You’ve all got a very long journey ahead of you so it’s important for you to get some rest while you can.”
