Love Island’s Cara De La Hoyde reveals she’s back on antidepressants after a ‘hard few days’ saying ‘there’s no shame’
LOVE Island star Cara De La Hoyde has revealed she is back on antidepressants after "a really hard few days."
The matchmaking show winner, who is married to Nathan Massey, has spoken candidly about her 11-year depression battle which re-surfaced after the series wrapped.
Now Cara has taken to her Instagram page to bravely tell the next step in her mental health journey.
Alongside a snap showing her wearing a tan-colour dress and dancing with a Hairspray theatre star, she candidly wrote: "So yesterday I took the step to to start back on #citilopram after a really hard few days I admitted to myself that I needed help.
"Instead of posting some same cliche picture I’m posting one that makes me smile ☺️
"Over 10 years of friendship that turns into family will do that."

She said: "The worst point came after Love Island.
"Nobody trains you for how intense it is, and you are constantly being judged.
"I don't believe there's anyone who isn't bothered by what people say about them.
"I really wish I'd have spoken to someone about it at the time, because I didn't know how to deal with it, and I didn't feel like me any more."
She revealed she had some dark days: "There would be times I'd lock myself in my bedroom for days, and just sit there and cry."
'SWALLOW PRIDE'
Back in 2020, when she was pregnant in the midst of the pandemic, she told how she had "swallowed her pride" to go back on her tablets.
