Why has Anne Hegerty left Beat The Chasers and who has replaced her?
THE Chase star Anne Hegerty has dropped out of spin-off show Beat The Chasers.
The TV star took to Twitter to explain her reasons for missing the new season which kicks off at 9pm TONIGHT (May 16, 2022).
Why has Anne Hegerty left Beat The Chasers?
Anne Hegerty, better known as The Governess, was forced to pull out of filming the ITV show after catching Covid.
The 63-year-old took to Twitter to inform her 161 thousand followers that she felt "fine", but was self isolating.
She said: "Unfortunately I’ve contracted Covid-19 so won’t be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers."
Anne usually appears alongside fellow Chasers Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha, Shaun Wallace and Darragh Ennis.

Who is Anne Hegerty's replacement Issa Schultz?
Hegerty explained in a tweet that Issa Schultz, the star of The Chase Australia will be replacing her.
The tweet said: "The fantastic@Issa25 will be stepping in for me and I’m looking forward to watching the series when it’s on air later this year. I feel fine, but I'm still positive! (in all respects)."
The new Chaser, Issa, also known as The Supernerd, is actually the main Chaser on the Australian version of the show.
He is the eight-time winner of the Australian Quizzing Championships and has previously made appearances on TV shows such as The Rich List and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
"Frankly, [I'm] excited and flattered that they asked me.
"I've always dreamed to come on the UK version in some regard when the Aussie one started because as a dual citizen, it's a great opportunity."
Anne also offered him some handy advice on their shared messenger group.
Schultz explained: "They just said, 'Be Issa. Australia love it, hopefully the UK will as well.' What you see is what you get, I'm no actor."
Will Anne Hegerty still be on The Chase?
Anne is still on The Chase, but will not be appearing on season five of Beat The Chasers due to her isolating while filming takes place.
On Saturday, March 19, 2022, she shared a new health update with fans on Twitter.

Posting a picture of a lateral flow test, she revealed she was now recording a negative result.
