He has been presenting the BBC show ever since - and tonight returned showing off his new look.

One viewer said: "3 things I noticed as #comicrelief started. 1) Lenny Henry has lost LOADS of weight. 2) Alisha Dixon appears to be wearing her trousers back to front. 3) David Tennant is much shorter than I thought."

Someone else added: "You know when you’ve not seen someone for ages and you don’t recognise them , I just did that with Lenny Henry."

Another said: "Wow Lenny Henry looks amazing."

A fan added: "Bloody hell Lenny Henry looks incredible!"

Lenny had first began to shed weight back in 2014 when he revealed he was a "little bit diabetic".

He went on to lose three stone, telling fans: “Well, it’s down to eating broccoli and not much else. I’ve also been running a lot. It has worked.”

Lenny added: “I’m a bit diabetic, so I was put on a very strict diet.

“I’ve lost between two and a half and three stone.

"I was big.”
