I was on The Chase – and there’s one BIG problem with the ITV set that viewers at home can’t see
A CONTESTANT on The Chase has revealed the problems behind the scenes of the ITV set that viewers can't see at home.
Hannah Cowton appeared on the game show fronted by Bradley Walsh last year, but filmed for her episode back in 2019.
Now finally able to discuss the behind-the-scenes secrets, Hannah revealed one big problem she faced during the episode filming.
The tech journalist took to her blog to detail how the stools used by the players behind the panel are "hard to balance on".
Alongside a photo of herself and her fellow contestants, Mark, Kerry and Carl, the game show contestant joked she almost "toppled off".
"The stools were hard to balance on. I kept getting scared that I would topple off it in excitement," Hannah wrote.
Elsewhere in the blog post, Hannah detailed how she was whisked to Elstree Studios in London, where she was given time to "wander around".
"After some prepping and recapping from the production team on being enthusiastic and knowing the rules, the four of us were whisked off to make-up so we didn't look like ghosts under the lights," she detailed.

The writer added that she and fellow players did "last-minute revision" before heading out to be seated behind the panel for filming.
"The [excitement] increased tenfold when the legend himself Bradley Walsh walked out," Hannah wrote, adding he was an "absolute gent".
"He remembered everyone’s names and constantly joked around on set, especially when he screwed up," she went on.

Finally, revealing the details of how the show is filmed - Hannah reassured fans that the reactions to camera were "genuine".
"We filmed all our intros, and one by one went up to face the Chaser," she said. "The reaction you see from me once I see The Sinnerman step out is genuine; Paul was extremely kind to me."
Earlier this year, another Chase contestant spilled the beans on what really goes on behind the scenes of the quiz show.
Rachel Warwick, 21, who appeared on the ITV game show in October 2020, went on TikTok to reveal the show's secrets.
First she shared the scoop on long-time host Bradley.
"Yes, Bradley is lovely... when I did get to speak to him he was so nice, just as nice as he is on TV," Rachel dished.
The student also explained that both the players and Bradley don't know which Chasers they will be up against until they walk down the tunnel and that it's “quite exciting”.

That means contestants' don't get to choose the Chaser and their reactions are genuine when filmed for the show.
"Even Bradley doesn't know who your Chaser will be so that's quite exciting," she said in the TikTok.
