Taking to their Instagram page on Wednesday they posted a series of snaps from the tour, alongside their children Arthur and Dorothy.

"We are home, after nearly 6 weeks on the road touring, we arrived back to the Chateau in the early hours of yesterday morning," the post read.

“It's truly been an honour and a privilege and we have loved every second. It's been great to see & meet so many of you and to hug family.

“Thank you so much if you came to see us," the couple signed off.

Dick and Angel went on to share some of what they had been up to since getting back home without the prospect of a camera crew.

“We’ve been catching up around the house, unpacking, laundry and having the first goose eggs of the season," they wrote.

Dick and Angel ended their Escape to the Chateau journey with a tour - where they invited fans to come and meet them.

It comes shortly after Angel, 43, revealed why the night before she married Dick, 62, she ended up "sobbing in the bath".

Angel revealed the pressure of renovating the huge property left her in tears, when she should have been relaxing before their big day.

The mum-of-two told : "We were engulfed with exhaustion. It was the first time I’d had a bath and I had a little sob.

"We'd been working 18, 20 or 22 hours a day and were flying high on adrenaline and couldn't lose our focus. Most of the house wasn't done."

Angel then added: "But there was a moment, before people started arriving, when it just didn't matter. Our mental state changed."

Angel and Dick, who shot to fame on the Channel 4 show in 2016, met 12 years ago at a party and despite doubts about their age gap went on to marry.

They share two children called Arthur, nine, and Dorothy, eight.

Earlier this month the family left their chateau in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France, and headed home to the UK for their new live show Dare To Do It.
