Phillip Schofield calls Spin To Win a ‘disaster’ amid competition chaos – as This Morning reveals bumper prize tomorrow

PHILLIP Schofield could not contain his annoyance as he declared Tuesday's Spin To Win a "disaster".

The This Morning host was joined by Josie Gibson as they tried to help one viewer bag up to £3000.

But the frustration mounted for Phil, 59, as a record FIVE callers failed to say the day's selected phrase.

When the final person picked up the phone and said "Hello", instead of the winning phrase, Phil screamed: "Oh, are you joking me!"

Things then took a confusing turn as Phil was told the deep-voiced caller picking up the phone was called Yvonne.

"Are you answering Yvonne's phone?", asked Josie.

Phil queried: "Is that Yvonne? ...I think we'll leave it there."

"OK, well that was a disaster," he went on to rant. "What an absolute catastrophe. We've had no luck getting through to anyone today."

But the presenter went on to explain the 'disaster' could mean a bumper cash prize for a caller tomorrow.

Phil announced: "I'm going to spin and the amount we land on now is going to be added to what you win tomorrow if we call you."

Josie has been standing in for Phil's usual co-host Holly Willoughby after she tested positive for Covid.

ITV insiders have told The Sun Online that show bosses have prepped TWO other presenters to cover this week, alongside Josie.

Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes are both due to stand in for pal Holly until she returns to the show when she tests negative for Covid-19.

A source said: "Holly will be missed this week but Rochelle, Alison and Josie are more than capable of stepping in and holding down the fort until Holly's back."
