MORNING Live's Gethin Jones was forced to apologise today after a guest was snubbed in a major faux pas.
Today's edition of the BBC One show saw Dr Punam Krishan visit Scotland for a piece about life expectancy.
As well as visiting an over 50's dance group, she spoke with a local politician about why areas of Scotland has a lower life expectancy than other parts of the country.
In a voice over, the GP said: "Patricia Gibson is the local MP."
After the pair chatted, she added: "Patricia's comments about diet and about hope have got me thinking about how we compare to the rest of the world when it comes to longevity."
However, viewers familiar with Scottish Government were quick to point out that Dr Punam hadn't been speaking to Patricia at all.

In the final moments of the show, Gethin apologised to viewers for the mix up, saying: "Thank you so much for your comments on the show today, lots of people getting in touch, but we do have a little bit of a correction.
"Lots of comments about our life expectency film earlier on in the show that Dr P did for us, a few of you rightly pointed out we mistakenly called MSP Katy Clark MP Patricia Gibson.
"We sincerely apologise for that. It was in fact Katy Clark we were speaking to, member of Scottish Parliament for West Scotland."
He added: "Thank you for keeping an eye on us, hope that makes it clear."

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "That wasn't Patricia Gibson MP interviewed on Ardrossan seafront, it was Katy Clark MSP.
"Wrong name, wrong designation, wrong political party! Poor show!"
Another tweeted: "@BBCMorningLive talking about interviewing SNP MP Patricia Gibson on life expectancy, but showing an interview with Pro-Union Labour MSP Katy Clark? Misleading to say the least."

A third added: "#MorningLive @BBCMorningLive did you just interview Katy Clark and refer to her as Patricia Gibson throughout?"
Meanwhile the show also came to a chaotic end thanks to Dolly the Labrador running amok during the Strictly fitness session.
Morning Live airs weekdays at 9.15am on BBC One.
