PEAKY Blinders fans have insisted that Stephen Graham's debut tonight "rescued the show from another awful episode".
The actor - who made his entrance as Hayden Stagg on the BBC One drama - appeared in a scene with Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson) on Sunday's instalment.
The newcomer impressed fans with many praising him for "saving" the show and are desperate for the new character to go head-to-head with the Shelbys in more scenes.
But many viewers were disappointed by the series so far and took to Twitter to vent.
One viewer raged: "Thank f*** for Stephen Graham, rescued that s*** show of another awful episode of PB. Sort it f****** out, absolutely killing this last series."
Another posted: "Halfway through and this series of Peaky Blinders is easily the most boring. Stephen Graham turning up recovered it a bit. Getting the feeling they're saving everything for the film."
"Used to be good. Unwatchable now. #PeakyBlinders," a third commented.
A fourth shared: "Hope next episode proves me wrong, but does anyone think Peaky Blinders is gone too gar away from what made it great in earlier series? #PeakyBlinders
#PeakyBlinders has gone down hill, thought this season would be so good instead it's s***. What's happened to Arthur?," someone else tweeted.
Another added: "This programme has turned into all style over substance. The first three series were exciting and raw. #PeakyBlinders"
But not all fans were disappointed by tonight's episode, with some viewers insisting that the series is taking a different direction.
One wrote: "How are people disliking this season, the show is maturing and it's been amazing so far. #PeakyBlinders."
Another agreed: "How are people criticising this series just because it isn't 'gangster' enough yet. That's not all Peaky Blinders is about."

BBC One viewers watched as Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) set out on a mission to find out whether his family was cursed.
As his daughter Ruby was rushed to hospital, Tommy paid a visit to Esme Shelby-Lee.
Meanwhile, in the absence of her brother, Ada Thorne (Sophie Rundle) stepped up to take charge of the Shelby family's business.
She instructed Arthur to head to Liverpool to deliver a warning.
Last week viewers were left distracted for a very different reason after Tommy Shelby's gave a rousing speech.
Fans were left fans hot under the collar when he gave not one but two intense monologues.
On Sunday's episode, MP for Birmingham South Tommy got involved in a power game with fascists, freedom fighters and Boston gangsters.
During a local Labour party rally, Tommy addressed the volunteers with a passionate speech - aimed at helping the fascist movement gain ground in the UK.
He insisted that his comrades won’t be silenced by Westminster about wealth inequality.
"I will gather up those cries and take them with me back to Westminster and I will let them out of the park in the House of Commons, and let them try and silence that ay," he told the supporters in a fiery presentation.
Tommy then presented a second ardent speech in parliament, putting forward a radical public housing bill.
BBC One viewers were driven wild by Tommy's impassioned speech and were left mesmerised by the Irish hunk.
One wrote: "Couldn't tell you a second of the plot of Peaky Blinders, I watch that show to stare at Cillian Murphy be hot for an hour each week."
Another posted: "Political Tommy looking hot #PeakyBlinders."
A third gushed: "Political Tommy is kinda hot. #PeakyBlinders."
