Climate change protesters storm Baftas red carpet and demand end to using oil
CLIMATE change protesters caused a stir ahead of the ceremony as they stormed the red carpet and called for an end to using oil.
Bafta organisers put a pen around them as the stars made their way into the Royal Albert Hall.

They wore bright orange T-shirts and chanted: “Just look up, just stop oil” in a nod to the film Don’t Look Up – which had four nominations.
Florence Pugh and Steven Graham were filmed walking around the barricades to greet fans.
Outside the protestors blocked the road and stopped the stars making their way in by cars and set off green flares.
Police stood around them and attempted to move them on as they chanted: “Just stop oil.”

On the red carpet, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed he was opening his home to Ukrainian refugees as the Baftas paid tribute to the nation’s people.
Speaking on the red carpet he said: “Everyone needs to do as much as they can.
"I think already today the news has broken that there’s been a record number of people volunteering to take people into their homes, and I hope to be part of that myself.”
