DANCING On Ice's Kye Whyte and Connor Ball have been eliminated from tonight's semi-final - narrowly missing out on a place in next week's final.

Olympian Kye and The Vamps star Connor were in the skate-off with Pussycat Dolls' Kimberley Wyatt - as they all went head-to-head to fight for survival.

The final stars, Regan Gascoigne, Kye Whyte, Connor Ball, Kimberley Wyatt and Brendan Cole all battled it out in an intense semi-final this evening - but the the BMX racer and the popstar was given the boot in a brutal double dumping.

The contestants performed twice tonight - a solo dance and their most personal routines yet.

Phillip said they can tell there was "tension on the ice" as they remaining contestants performed their group piece.

Tonight's head judge Jayne Torvill agreed with the decision to send Kye and Connor home, with lads telling Phillip that they've had an incredible experience and were sad to be leaving.

The panel unanimously chose to save Pussycat Dolls Kimberley in the skate-off after scoring top in the group skate and leaving judges stunned with her final skate with pro Mark Hanretty.

Despite an impressive final performance, which saw Connor secure 38 points and Kye scored 36 points, they were both eliminated.

Viewers were gutted to see Kye and Connor, with one writing: "Really sad to see you go Connor and Kye go, both brilliant skarers. #DancingonIce"

Another posted: "Really wanted to see you in the final next week Connor. #DancingonIce"

Meanwhile Strictly's Brendan Cole and Regan Gascoigne made it through to next week's final.

Last week Stef Reid left the competition after she landed in the skate-off against Kye Whyte.

Brendan Cole earned a perfect score from the Dancing On Ice judges for a second week running.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional secured 40 points for his skate to Let's Face The Music And Dance from the film Follow The Fleet, after ending his routine with a successful headbanger move.

The celebrity contestants performed routines inspired by Olympic champions and show judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Asked how he found the routine, Brendan said: "Scary, full-on scary. There was so much content in there and we wanted to do justice to Jayne and Chris."

Torvill told him "everything flowed beautifully together" before fellow judge Ashley Banjo described the routine as "near-perfect".
