LATER SKATERS

Dancing on Ice moved to ‘special new time’ tonight as Holly Willoughby is forced to pull out

DANCING On Ice fans will need to tune in later tonight to catch the latest episode of the hit skating show.

ITV has re-jigged its schedules and put Paul O'Grady: For The Love Of Dogs in the 7pm slot, with Phillip Schofield broadcasting live by himself straight afterwards.

There will be no Holly Willoughby this week after the star announced the 41-year-old presenter had been ruled out with Covid.

That means Dancing On Ice will not air until 7.30pm - with anyone switching on at the normal time getting ITV News instead.

The Dancing On Ice social media account tweeted: "Remember, we're on at the special time of 7.30pm for one night only, so set your reminders now for an epic Semi-Final."

It added: "Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for Covid-19.

More Dancing On Ice

"Tonight's #DancingOnIce Semi-Final will be hosted by Phillip Schofield and we look forward to Holly returning for our Live Final."

The skating spectacular will run for an hour and a half before the second episode of the channel's showcase drama The Ipcress File at 9pm.

For the past two weeks Dancing On Ice has started at 6.30pm and lasted for an hour and a half.

Before that it started at 6pm and lasted two hours but as the number of contestants have been whittled down, the show needs increasingly shorter runtimes.

This week the celebs left in the competition - Connor Ball, Kye White, Brendan Cole, Regan Gascoigne and Kimberly Wyatt - will have to dance twice to secure their places in the final.

Meanwhile, judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean give their verdicts.

The celebs who make it through will then have two weeks to rehearse for the live final as the show has been postponed a week so ITV can show live football.

It is airing the FA Cup quarter final clash between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at 6pm on 20 March - meaning Dancing On Ice's finale will happen on 27 March instead.

Last Sunday paralympian Stef Reid became the latest celebrity eliminated, in a week that saw three contestants earn perfect scores from the judges.
