Killing Eve fans all have the same complaint about as season 4 plot takes ‘strange’ turn
KILLING Eve fans have been left baffled as the new series took a very “strange” turn in tonight’s episode.
In the latest instalment, fans were confused by a bizarre plot twist which saw Villanelle manifests herself as Jesus.
Season four kicked off to a disturbing start last week as viewers watched Villanelle try to repent for her sins.
She stopped herself from killing the vicar’s daughter and even tried to baptise herself – but this left fans dubious over whether the assassin had really turned over a new leaf.
In the second instalment, Vilanelle manifests a doppelganger vision of herself as Jesus Christ, as she ingratiates into a Christian community in London in an attempt to prove she’s not a terrible person.
Last week, the Russian assassin was obsessed with being baptised and invited Eve so that she could prove that she had changed.

But when Eve didn’t turn up, she takes her anger out on May and almost drowned her.
Feeling frustrated that God doesn’t speak to her, Villanelle now imagines Jesus, who looks and sounds exactly like her, to be her spiritual guide.
However, viewers were left uneasy by the concept and took to Twitter, with one writing: “This is all very strange…I’m not keen on tonight’s episode. #KillingEve”
Another posted: “Killing Eve was always a bit wacky and strange but this last series is just ridiculous and I’m really struggling to get what the hell is going on.”
“#KillingEve has gone seriously strange,” another commented.
A fourth echoed: “Have no idea what is happening in #KillingEve. Anyone any ideas? This series is a bit bonkers for me!”
“I can’t say I’m loving this series of Killing Eve, it’s all too weird for me,” someone else tweeted.
Last week some viewers threatened to “boycott” season four and raged that BBC should have “axed the show after the first series.
Fans were keen to “switch off” in the first 20 minutes, saying they were baffled why Villanelle was now posing as an angelic churchgoer.
The assassin then returned to her normal murderous ways when she killed a pet cat from the house she was seeking refuge at.
But some BBC viewers were left reaching for their remote, claiming that they were sick of the same premise that had been repeated in each series.
One wrote: “Yes, just switched off and won’t be bothering with the rest of the series. Shame on you.”
Another posted: “Should have ended at series one… with Eve dead. #KillingEve.”
“Bit of a s***e start, probably a series too far.. #killingeve,” a third commented.
However, not all fans were disappointed, with many thrilled to get another dose of their favourite villain.
The season four synopsis states that Sandra Oh‘s Eve Polastri is on a revenge mission, while Villanelle has found a new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a “monster”.
Having killed Paul, Carolyn goes to extraordinary lengths to continue to chase down The Twelve and the person that ordered Kenny’s hit.
