Ex Eastenders star Preeya Kalidas reunites with on-screen husband Marc Elliott ten years after dramatic soap affair
FORMER EastEnders star Preeya Kalidas has delighted fans after bumping into her on-screen husband Marc Elliott.
The stunning actress, 41, was out and about when she suddenly spotted Marc, 42, in a restaurant.
Seizing the moment, Preeya jumped online and recorded a video of their chance meeting for their thrilled followers.
She says: "Look who I just bumped into..."
Pointing and giggling, Preeya added: "My ex husband!"
Laughing, Marc cheekily chipped in: "I ditched her."
Continuing the amusing exchange, Preeya added: "Can you believe it? Bonkers!"
Showing his appreciation for the spur-of-the-moment reunion, Preeya and Marc's former EastEnders cast mate, John Partridge, replied with seven red heart emojis.
THE OTHER MAN
In 2009, Preeya - who starred in the 2002 movie Bend It Like Beckham - joined the cast of EastEnders as Amira Shah.
Amira was the girlfriend of Syed Masood, son of Masood and Zainab, and played by Marc.
They went on to tie the knot and their nuptials even scooped the Inside Soap Award for Best Wedding.
However, following their big day, Syed became increasingly distant towards his Amira, despite agreeing to try for a baby with her.
Tearaway teen Lucy Beale then dropped a shocking bombshell, painting on the couple's bedroom wall 'Syed loves Christian'.
The couple's pal Christian, played by John Partridge, had fallen for Syed and the feeling was mutual.
As a result, horrified and hearbroken Amira left her husband and Walford, meaning Preeya bowed out of the BBC One soap for a short while.
The actress reprised the role the following year, with fans discovering Amira had been pregnant with Syed's baby when she had left.
But after a failed quest to win her husband back from Christian, the character left for Birmingham with her daughter and Preeya exited the soap for good.
Since then, Preeya has gone on to appear in several TV shows and took on the role of Pinky in the stage musical of Bend It Like Beckham. She previously played Monica in the film version.
Marc, meanwhile, has continued with his career on the small screen and featured in shows including Holby City and Call The Midwife.
