Her caption for the image, which she posted to instagram, revealed that the candid picture had been snapped by the couple's six year old son.

She wrote: "Happy birthday my love ❤️ everything I need right here. Deliriously tired from pre school birthday celebrations 🎉 📷 by excited 6yr old 5th family member."

The couple, who haven't publicly revealed the name of their son, welcomed a child back in March 2016.

Suranne and Laurence, 51, also became parents to two dachsunds, who are also in the picture taken by their talented offspring, when they adopted them during lockdown.

The relaxed snap also sees the couple barefoot at the London home before they headed off on the school run.

Laurence works as a freelance script writer and is a former magazine editor.

He and Suranne met in 2013 at the wedding of the actress' former Coronation Street co star Sally Lindsay.

They wed themselves a year later.

Suranne will soon be seen back on screens in the second series on Gentleman Jack, which is coming to BBC One this Spring.

And yesterday it was announced that she will front a new ITV drama about two sisters rocked by a devastating tragedy.

The BAFTA award-winning actress is due to play lead role Becca in show, Maryland, crafted by American screenwriter Anne-Marie O'Connor.

The siblings have been torn apart by tragedy throughout their lives, but the storyline sees them "learning to love one another all over again".

Maryland will look into the family's complex dynamics - which are only made more difficult when a body is found at the local beach.

Sisters Becca and Rosaline are devastated to find out the older woman found on Laxey Beach, the Isle of Man, is their mother.

The pair grow closer as they deep dive into their parent's double life, which saw their mum move away to create a new life for herself.
