PEAKY Blinders fans got everything they'd hoped for when Tom Hardy made his return to the BBC crime drama.
In an ominous introduction, Cillian Murphy's Thomas Shelby walks through the rum distillery as the famous opera aria Nessun Dorma played.
Then from behind a record player Tom appears as his iconic character, Alfie Solomon.
"I always thought opera was fat people shouting," hilariously opened with upon his return.
Tommy tells him: "Alfie, I think I may have written your final act."
The men then negotiate exporting heroin to the United States as Alfie questioned why he should work with the Shelbys and not the other gangs.
"America was supposed to be my masterpiece," he tells Tommy.
The tense scene was enjoyed by fans who'd been hanging for the famous actor's return.
"ALFIE HOW I HAVE MISSED YOU," wrote one fan on Twitter.
Another added: "Yes Alfie 😍😍 He’s back."
And a third wrote: "Even by his exceptionally high standards, that's Tom Hardy's finest 5 minutes of Alfie Solomons yet 🙌."
Tom Hardy's Alfie first appeared on Peaky Blinders in season 2 as the leader of the Jewish gang in London.
After forming an alliance with the Peaky Blinders to oust the local Italian gang, Alfie and Tommy developed a friendly rivalry that progresses into betrayal.
Fans are speculating there is one big reason that Tommy is seeking Alfie's help in Peaky Blinders season 6.
They think he is still planning to take on the fascist party leader, Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin).
Fans think, despite their history of betrayals, Alfie is actually the perfect person to help Tommy fight such a powerful enemy.
