ANT and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left fuming tonight when a popular segment disappeared after viewers complained about it.

The segment, Ring My Bell, saw Ant and Dec dishing out cash to lucky audience members last week.

And it was sorely missed tonight, with people gutted that it hadn't returned.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Calling for a ring my bell come back! Loved that last week."

Another tweeted: "@antanddec no ring my bell tonight? These people who moaned about dogs barking god forbid anyone actually knocking the door. Unless they have no friends."

A third ranted: "Please bring back ring my bell, it's a lot more entertaining than masked Humdinger. Please, please, don't do that section again"

The segment used live doorbell camera footage from the homes of people in the audience who were told to jump up and shout 'ding, dong that's my bell' if they saw their street on the big screen.

They had the chance to win £500 if their neighbour watching at home also ran to their front door within 45 seconds to ring the bell.

Fans watching at home loved the segment and called for it to have its own series, but there was a portion of viewers who complained on Twitter.

Viewers with dogs tweeted that their beloved pooches were getting very worked up at the doorbells ringing.

"Dogs going mad at the ring my bell," wrote one fan last week.

Another added: "This door bell segment might have been hilarious but it caused absolute mayhem with our dog barking over and over at the noise."

A third commented: "@antanddec loved the ring my bell segment. But I hate you because my dogs been non stop barking for the past 15 minutes."

Instead, tonight's episode featured The Masked Singer Humdinger segment, with a member of the audience guessing which members of their family were beneath the masks.

People on Twitter didn't enjoy it at first, saying that it wasn't fun for them because they couldn't guess who was beneath the masks.

But things quickly turned emotional when Ant and Dec revealed the real reason they dragged Grandma Laura Miles up on stage.
