Coronation Street’s real-life siblings Rebecca and Jack James Ryan look unrecognisable in throwback snap
REAL-LIFE siblings Rebecca Ryan and Jack James Ryan have followed in each other’s footsteps in the cobbles.
The Jacob Hay actor shared an adorable snap with his sister on Instagram and the Coronation Street stars look unrecognisable.
Jack, 25, is known for playing bad boy Jacob and made his first appearance in the ITV soap in February, 2021, amid a shocking storyline involving Simon Barlow.
Months later, in December, 2021, his off-screen sister Rebecca took on the role of Underworld PR Lydia Chambers, and the siblings have been crossing paths at work ever since.
Much like Jacob during his first appearances in the long-running programme, Lydia has been wreaking absolute chaos in the cobbles and more particularly in Adam Barlow’s life.

But before their respective stints in the spotlight, Jack and Rebecca were just like any other children with big dreams.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Jack answered questions from his 13.1K followers on Instagram about his life and work.
“When did you know you wanted to be an actor? When did it all click x.”, asked a follower.
Jack responded with a heart-warming shot from his childhood on his Instagram story, in which he can be seen with his sister Rebecca and their brother Charlie.
“LOOK AT US!!!”, he penned, adding: “I’ve known I wanted to be an actor from a really young age. Both my brother and sister are actors and I grew up watching them on stage and screen and it was so inspiring.”
Tagging both of his siblings, the actor went on: “So, basically I just copied them.”
Jack then praised his sister Rebecca for her work as bunny boiler Lydia.
“I’m so proud of her, she’s been killing it on Corrie!”, he wrote in another post on his story, “I know first hand how hard it is for the fans to get behind the villains but she deserves all the love!”
“If you hate Lydia, then you know Rebecca is doing an incredible job. She couldn’t be any less like her character in real life, she is a literal angel.”
Speaking to the Mirror upon her arrival in Coronation Street, Rebecca shared similar feelings about working with her brother.
This is the second time the siblings have been in the same show as they have been on the Casualty set before joining the Corrie line-up.
“It’s so amazing to be working with Jack – what a dream come true to work with him at the same time”, the actress said.
She added: “We did Casualty – he came on when I was there but we didn’t get together on it, we were just there. I have worked with my older brother Charlie before on a couple of things.”
Meanwhile, their characters are on different sides of the Street, although they are involved with the same family.
As Lydia continues to cause Adam problems in his personal and professional lives, Jacob continues his romance with Amy Barlow.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
