EastEnders’ Zack Morris reveals amazing new role just one week after stepping down as Keegan Baker
EASTENDERS star Zack Morris is jetting off to star in his first movie - days after it was announced he's left Albert Square.
The Keegan Baker actor, 23, has landed a huge role in a blockbuster production, calling it "the stuff of dreams".
Zack, who has already filmed his final scenes on the soap and had his leaving do, was driven to the airport today.
He is going to star in siege survival thriller Jericho Ridge, set in a rundown US town.
The actor will appear alongside Luther's Nikki Amuka-Bird, who plays a cop called Tabby trying to save her son from a drug cartel.
Posting on Twitter today he wrote: "On route to the airport to start a new job just 10 days after leaving one.
"This really is the stuff of dreams. I never in a million years expected this to happen! The hard work and overtime is really starting to pay off 🚀✈️✌🏽."
His screen mum Lorraine Stanley wrote: "Go fly son….literally!! Can’t wait to hear all about it,big love & warm hugs ✌🏼💙🌟."
Zack yesterday said an emotional goodbye to the soap and his co-star after five years in EastEnders.
He was given a big send off by some of the soap's biggest stars such as Shona McGarty, Lorraine and Jamie Borthwick.
Zack wrote on Instagram: "Celebrating the end of an incredible era with some incredible people. You’ve all played a huge part in making me who I am today.
"The love will always run strong💙 Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This is only the beginning… #GoodByeKeegs."
Shona commented: "Oh Zack. What a wonderful night. I will miss you so so much. 😢 xx So many great memories. Go out there and smash it xx Love you loads xx."
