The eight things you really need to know about the final series of Killing Eve
WITH the fourth and final series now on our screens, the gripping Killing Eve saga is hurtling to a close.
The action this time comes from Sex Education writer Laura Neal. But with series three ending on a huge cliffhanger, will the latest run tie up all the show’s loose ends?
Here, Deputy TV Editor FELICITY CROSS offers her clues and answers to eight key questions.
- You can watch the new series of Killing Eve now on the BBC iPlayer, or from 9.15pm on Saturday on BBC One.
Will Eve and Villanelle finally get together?
THERE has never been a relationship quite so volatile as Eve and Villanelle’s.
Both have tried to kill each other multiple times. We last saw them arguing on London Bridge, with Eve admitting: “When I try and think of my future, I just see your face.”
Does that mean a romantic relationship is on the cards for the two of them, or does Eve (Sandra Oh) mean more of a professional pairing?
#The passion between them suggests this is more than just a working relationship – despite Eve admitting that Villanelle (Jodie Comer) brings out the “monster” in her and them both turning away from the intense conversation on the bridge – but also looking back as they walked away.
The trailer for season four flashes back to that moment – so this cliffhanger may well get an answer.

Will Carolyn kill... or be killed?
MI6 agent Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) is no stranger to murder, having shot her co-worker Paul (Steve Pemberton) – who she had learnt was also an undercover spy for shadowy group The Twelve.
And she is out for more revenge, after learning the group – and her ex-lover Konstantin – played a role in her beloved son Kenny’s death.
Carolyn herself has evaded meeting her maker up until now, but when The Twelve find out she murdered Paul, her time could be up.
In the trailer, Carolyn can be heard saying: “Do you ever think what might have happened if we hadn’t done what we did? People like us aren’t made for happy lives with happy endings.”
Or will she outsmart them all?
Will Villanelle kill Eve?
IN the trailer, Villanelle and Eve (who appears to be injured), are seen side by side on a beachfront cliff.
Eve pulls up alongside Villanelle on her scooter and asks her old adversary if she wants a ride.
The next shot shows Villanelle riding Eve’s scooter off into the distance – with no sign of Eve.
It would be a full-circle moment for the duo after Eve stabbed Villanelle in the series one finale.
And both Jodie and Sandra have said the show’s ending was emotional to shoot – so could Killing Eve finally be revealed as a premonition as well as a show title?
Who actually are The Twelve?
VILLANELLE has been working for this sinister organisation from the very start of Killing Eve – but not a lot is known about them.
The Twelve seem to bind all the main characters together and have a lot of blood on their hands, but so far there appears to be no motive for their killings.
In series three we met Villanelle’s former handler Dasha and her boss Helene, but we still do not know what the group wants exactly.
Viewers will hope the ringleader will finally be exposed.
Did Konstantin kill Kelly?
CAROLYN’S son Kenny died during the show’s third series, falling from the roof of an office block where he was working. But did he fall or was he pushed?
Double agent Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) was the last person to see Kenny alive, but claimed the lad fell after being spooked and that he was only visiting to try to convince him to work with The Twelve.
The mystery could get even darker if Konstantin turns out to be Kenny’s dad. It was revealed in Carolyn’s investigation into her son’s death that she had had a fling with the Russian spy and Kenny had been phoning Konstantin to ask if he was his father.
Kim has told in interviews how series four will see Konstantin become a mayor in Russia – so he will be more powerful than ever.
But the trailer suggests Konstantin’s misdemeanours will catch up with him, and he appears to be pushed into a river by Kenny’s girlfriend Audrey.
Will Villanelle quit as an assassin?
OUR anti-hero made it clear in series three that she wanted The Twelve to promote her from assassin to handler.
But Villanelle’s dreams were shot down when Helene from the mysterious organisation told her to stay in her lane.
Then a job offer extended to her by MI6 was withdrawn after she told Carolyn she wanted to be a spy, not a murderer.
Villanelle even flirted with the possibility of becoming an interior designer.
So will the Russian killer be queuing outside her local job centre in the final season, or will she return to her old ways?
Does Niko return?
EVE’S estranged husband Niko was last seen in a hospital bed recovering from The Twelve’s attack.
Dasha from the group had put a pitchfork through Niko’s neck while he was on his bread delivery round in Poland.
Niko told her to “p**s off for ever” from his hospital bed, so does that really mean we will never see him again?
Or will The Twelve continue to use him as collateral to try to drive a wedge between Eve and Villanelle?
What will happen to Irina?
VILLANELLE has been like a daughter to Konstantin.
But his biological offspring Irina is now a trained killer too, and has ended up in jail for running over her mother’s boyfriend.

It was in prison that Villanelle was first recruited by The Twelve as a youngster – so viewers think the same future could beckon for Irina.
That would make Irina an able stand-in if Villanelle decides to turn her back on life as an assassin.
