Emmerdale spoilers: Rhona Goskirk horrified as her mum interrupts intimate moment with Marlon Dingle

COMING clean to Marlon Dingle about Marcus Dean's identity, Rhona Goskirk wants to make everything up to him.

But when she decides to declare her love, she is startled by her mother's sudden arrival in Emmerdale.

Rhona (played by Zoe Henry) cannot catch her breath.

Confronted by the memory of her former husband Pierce Harris, she soon met his son Marcus (Darcy Grey) ahead of the rapist killer's death behind bars.

Since then, Marcus has made plans to return to the village… with Rhona's partner Marlon (Mark Charnock) being unaware of his true identity.

Eventually, Rhona is forced to come clean to Marlon but the truth comes at a price.

Marlon confides in Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and admits he doesn't know whether he'll ever be able to forgive Rhona for not telling him anything sooner.

After an exchange of harsh words, Rhona accuses Marlon of victim-blaming her.

This prompts Marcus to become a peacemaker between the pair and, soon, Rhona takes it upon herself to pop the question.

In upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, Rhona gets down on one knee to propose, confessing her unwavering love for Marlon.

However, her attempt is quickly thwarted by the sudden arrival of her mother, Mary.

Spoilers have already confirmed that acclaimed actress and former EastEnders star Louise Jameson will be joining the Emmerdale line-up as Rhona's mother.

However, the reunion will not go down as expected.

The women don't get along and are bound to have more conflict as Mary interrupts one of her daughters most important life moments.

It soon becomes apparent that Mary is far from welcome in Rhona's life as mother and daughter have been living estranged for several years.

Mary is also set to ruffle more feathers in the village after her disruption.

But how will she react to Rhona's proposal?

Will Mary's visit allow her to build a bridge with her daughter Rhona?

Or will they remain at odds with one another?

More importantly, why has Mary come to visit her?

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV and a change in the soap's schedule is soon to be expected as it gives up its usual time slot.
