Fans of The Wendy Williams Show have been speculating that the hit talk show is being cancelled.
Why is the Wendy William's show being cancelled?
Wendy's absence from the show for the last season has led to fans speculating that the show is being cancelled.
However, on February 22, 2022 a spokesperson for Williams confirmed the show's cancellation to .
"It's been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time," Williams' rep Howard Bragman said.
"She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television -- you can't go to the marketplace and sell a show that's the 'Maybe Wendy Show'.

"She understands why this decision was made from a business point of view, and she has been assured by Debmar-Mercury that should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time."
The talk show host has suffered numerous amounts of health scares over the last year or so.
In 2021, Wendy tested positive for Covid-19 and was then rushed to the hospital for "psychiatric services."
The 57-year-old also has multiple health conditions that she suffers from including Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism, which she was diagnosed with 19 years ago.
Williams also checked into rehab in 2019 as she struggles with sobriety.
Her sobriety became an issue following her separation from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.
Sherri Shepherd, 54, is set to replace The Wendy Williams Show with her very own talk show come fall 2022.
The new show will be titled Sherri.
Shepherd announced the news on the show on February 22, 2022 to the live studio audience.
She is a TV host veteran having co-hosted the daytime talk show The View.

As the show has been on since 2008 fans have had a strong reaction to hearing of its cancellation.
Wendy's fans took to Twitter to express their emotions and opinions on the news.
One user wrote: "the wendy williams show being cancelled due to her health problems is actually so sad. i wish she was able to end the show on her own terms. she’s forever going to be a tv icon tho."
Some users realized that they have grown up with the show and it is a mark of how much time has passed.
"The Wendy Williams show getting canceled feels like a loss as it’s been around literally since I was a 15 year old girl," a separate user wrote.
What has Wendy Williams said about her health?
The TV icon has spoken up about her health since her absence from the show.
On November 8, 2021 Williams updated fans on her health status.
"As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected," Wendy told her fans.
She continued: "I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready.
