Danniella Westbrook reveals she’s getting her RIB removed to fix her face

DANNIELLA Westbrook has revealed that doctors are planning to remove part of her rib next week as she prepares to go under the knife again.

The former EastEnders star previously underwent a similar procedure in 2018 where surgeons removed part of her rib to fix her cheekbone.

At the time, the TV star revealed that she had no bone left in one of her cheeks due to osteoporosis that was caused by bad dental work.

Now four years on, the 49-year-old has explained that she's set to go under the same operation again and admitted it will "take a toll" on her.

Speaking to , she said: "I'm going through a lot operations at the moment. They're good but they're very hard.

"The first two of my operations haven't taken a toll on me but the next lot will do.

"I'm seeing a bone surgeon next who is going to be removing a rib."

Danniella first discussed the procedure and her osteoporosis battle on Good Morning Britain in 2018.

At the time hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan asked if her past drug addiction had triggered the condition - but Danniella explained it was in fact bad dental work.

She said: "When I was doing excessive amounts of drugs and lost my nose I would have got it then, not after being 13 years clean.

"I wouldn't have just got it in the last three years."

Discussing her botched dental work, she added: "The screws, which they have left in, the bone didn't close around them when I had implants, which led to blood getting into the bone so it just died.

"That gave me the septicaemia which gave me the bone disease and started rotting away and it's all down to that.

"They were going to have to take some of my skull but they're going to use a floating rib."

Prodding her left cheek, she revealed: "I have no cheek bone here at all where it's just gone from osteoporosis, nothing to do with cocaine at all.

"If it was I would openly say that it was, like I did before with my nose."

PLANNED SURGERY

The former soap star's comments come after she revealed plans for more surgery on her face ahead of her 50th birthday in January.

At the time, Danniella shared a throwback of her at the TV Quick and TV Choice awards in 2009 and said: "Can’t wait for all my surgery to be done... will be back too my best and fighting fit and next year I will be 50!

"Bring it on... I’m ready... More than ready, I’m ready for a full transformation physically.

"I’ve spent a lot of time alone the last six months. I’ve been working on myself and my spiritual side has already begun evolving.

"I’ve cut the deadbeats and energy draining people out of my life. And I am ready to get busy living... And busy working. I have a feeling it’s all going to work out just fine 😉💋."

Danniella has struggled with a very public cocaine addition since shooting to fame more than three decades ago.

Opening up about the affect her addiction had on her looks, Danniella said previously: "My drug habit has aged me and it shows through my looks.

"I've rebuilt myself on the inside, so it's time to rebuild myself on the outside."

Danniella - who rose to fame as Sam Mitchell in EastEnders - recently hit out at the BBC after The Sun revealed the character would be returning with a different actress.

Kim Medcalf, who replaced Danniella in 2002 as she fought drug addiction, played Sam until 2005.
