Inside Sister Wives’ heartbreaking tragedies as Meri Brown grieves mom’s death on milestone date
SISTER Wives star Meri Brown reflected on the loss of her mother, marking their final day together, but that's just one of many tragedies the famous family has faced.
Through the years, the family has faced many setbacks, including deaths, breakups, and scary health issues.
On Valentine's Day 2021, Meri of herself standing alongside her mother.
While it was not yet the one-year anniversary of the Sister Wives star's mother's passing, the date did mark one year since their last day together.
She reflected on losing her mom last year, writing: "Not quite a year since my sweet mom has been here with us, but a year since I saw her.
"Valentine's day weekend 2021 was the last time I saw her sweet and smiling face, got one of her loving and comforting hugs, heard her voice, visited with her, enjoyed her company.
"Little did I know it would be the last time."
Meri went on: "It's comforting to know she's in the arms of my dad once again, looking on from above, leading, guiding, and loving like they always have. So grateful for all the years I had with her."

Meri's mom's death is just one of the many tragedies the Brown family has been dealt through the years.
JENELLE'S LOSS
Jenelle Brown also lost her mother.
In 2020, she reflected on losing her mother on .
She wrote: "My sweet mother returned to her heavenly home a week ago today. Im not sure you ever completely expect it, even though they have been sick for awhile.
"I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the many small miracles that happened that allowed my sister and I to be with her at the end.
"We believe in the eternal nature of families and so “see you” again mom."
She went on: "As recently said 'Here is to strong women, who raise strong women, who raise strong women.'
“'Her children rise up and call her blessed'."
KODY'S LOSS
In June 2013, Kody Brown faced a devastating loss of his own.
He revealed on that his brother, Curtis Brown, died.
He left behind his wife, Erica.
Curtis was killed after being involved in a devastating car accident.
Starcasm at the time that Curtis was only 34.
Erica expressed her own grief on Twitter, writing: “My heart is shattered at the loss of my soulmate @cattlemancurtis. I will love and miss you always and forever! Save a place for us <3”
Meri responded with: “You only have to miss him this lifetime, you’ll have him forever. The love you share is an inspiration to me! Love you Erica.”
CHRISTINE & KODY'S NIGHTMARE
During a Facebook Live in 2020, Christine Brown revealed that she took her daughter Truely to the hospital when she was only 3 years old.
The reality star claimed that she thought her daughter was suffering from the flu at the time.
It turned out, however, that she was suffering from acute kidney failure and dehydration.
She was hospitalized for 11 days.
Christine and then-husband Kody didn't have insurance at the time, and found themselves $450,000 in debt as a result.
CHRISTINE'S EXIT
In November 2021, Christine confirmed that she and Kody had ended their marriage.
The news came amid much speculation from fans.
She released a statement on social media and said: "After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave."
In a Sister Wives clip shared by , Christine opened up about her rocky relationship with Kody.
She said during a confessional: “He goes: 'I'm not interested in having an intimate marriage anymore. I don't like your behavior. We'll see if you can be a good sister wife,' and all this.
"I'm like, 'Okay, so you don't want us to have an intimate marriage?' And he goes, 'No.' I'm like, 'That's not enough for me. I cannot have an intimate marriage.'"
Kody is married to Janelle, 52, , 43, and is also divorced from , 50.
Shortly after the split, Christine thanked her fans on TikTok for their support and discussed the courage she needed in order to walk away.
The reality TV star explained: "Becoming a bad a** was an important step for me to make," before revealing the advice that her mother gave her.
"She was saying you have to listen to your heart and make a decision based on joy. But listen to your heart and really go deep into who you are as a person and then make that decision."
She continued: "People are gonna know my business. Anything that I decide to do since I'm public people are gonna know."
Christine's mother chimed in: "So what? Make a decision for yourself and then go with that."
The TV personality is now focused on "doing the next right thing."
After making the decision to leave Kody, Christine moved into her own Utah home.
The house was built in 2019 and is a two-story duplex that has two living units attached next to each other as townhouses.
Christine's portion is 3,490-square feet and features three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The dwelling also features a built-in garage, porch, wood deck in the back, and a basement for both tenants.
