Football and I’m A Celeb star Jimmy Bullard returns to reality TV after eight years as he signs up for Celeb MasterChef

EX-FOOTBALLER Jimmy Bullard is making a return to reality TV eight years after starring in I'm A Celebrity.

The former Peterborough United midfielder, 43, has signed up to Celebrity MasterChef and is hoping to wow the judges with his cooking skills.

A source said: "Jimmy's up for showing off his cooking ability. He's confident he can impress John [Torode] and Gregg [Wallace] and will bring a bit of flair and energy to the show."

A MasterChef spokesperson said: "We do not comment on speculation over the Celebrity MasterChef line-up."

After hanging up his boots in 2012, Jimmy has gone on to become a telly favourite and even has a bestselling book under his belt: Bend It Like Bullard.

The engaged father-of-two finished 10th on I'm A Celebrity in 2014 with his larger than life personality dividing viewers.

The series was eventually won by retired motorbike racer Carl Fogarty, 56, with Jake Quickenden and Melanie Sykes finishing as runners-up.

Jimmy has co-hosted long-running Sky show Soccer AM since 2017 and was a series regular on Saturday night entertainment show Play To The Whistle alongside Bradley Walsh and Holly Willoughby.

He has also hosted a fishing podcast and a football comedy show on Dave with Rob Beckett.

His 15-year professional football career was blighted by injury but he still managed to become a fan favourite during his time at Posh, Wigan, Fulham and Hull City before retiring at MK Dons in 2012.

While at Hull, Jimmy famously mocked then-manager Phil Brown with a goal celebration re-enacting the public telling off the gaffer gave the team in a previous game.
