VIEWERS of Inside The Factory have complained about presenter Gregg Wallace, describing him as 'irritating' after the latest episode.

Fans of the show - which goes behind the scenes of some of the nation's favourite foods - slammed the Masterchef star for being "childish" and "loud".

On Wednesday night, greengrocer Gregg, 57, and co-host Cherry Healey visited a vacuum cleaner factory in Somerset and followed the creation of their biggest seller, the Henry vacuum cleaner in bright red.

Gregg first chatted to head of operations Stuart Cochrane as he took a delivery of 25 tonnes of clear polypropylene pellets, which will be mixed with a red colouring agent and moulded under 300 tonnes of clamp pressure, the equivalent weight of 24 London buses.

The host learned there are 47 of the moulding machines which make 5,000 vacuums every day.

Viewers then watched Gregg add a bit of personality to his vacuum and saw silicone pads dipped in ink and pressed onto the plastic to create the famous Henry face and smile.

There were many more steps Gregg followed after this to create the iconic vacuum, and while viewers found that fascinating, many had the same complaint about Gregg.

"#insidethefactory is quite a good program, but the presenters are terrible! Too loud, not funny and so irritating. Do they think they're talking to children?," complained one fan.

Another added: "The poor workers having to put up with, WOOOH!, Greg Wallace!"

And a third added: "I really do wonder if #insidethefactory was aimed at children, but someone thought it might be interesting for after the watershed. It's awful, childish presentation, especially greg wallace."

Another complained: "I love watching #insidethefactory but Gregg Wallace is getting more irritating with every episode. That maniacal laughter makes him sound like some sort of evil clown."

Last month, fans were left scratching their heads as Gregg and Cherry explored the world of tortilla chips.

While Gregg went to the factory that makes Doritos, Cherry also explored how crisp packaging is transforming to be better for the environment.

Cherry explained how hard it is for crisp packets to be recycled due to the thin layers of plastic, before visiting a factory that was helping a different brand produce the first plastic-free crisp packet in the UK.

The process saw the factory workers turning sustainable wood pulp from South America into a film that looks like plastic but is biodegradable.

The segment featured lots of shots of the different elements of the process, but the presenters didn't name the crisp brand using the game-changing packaging directly.

It left viewers desperate to know where to find them, with one writing on Twitter: "Which brand is that using the compostable bags? And why doesn’t everyone?"
