Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh QUITS role as bosses fight to keep her after Strictly fame
GOOD Morning Britain bosses are desperate to hold on to Ranvir Singh after she secretly quit her role as political editor.
Insiders said Ranvir, 44, was sick of the cold mornings standing on the doorstep of Number 10 and handed in her notice at the end of last year under the premise she would be move into a more substantial role on the flagship ITV show.
It comes as Ranvir’s profile has continued to soar, with her stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 helping to make her a household name.
A source said: “Ranvir is ready for a new challenge at Good Morning Britain and she wants a bigger role within the team.
“She quietly stepped down as the political editor of the show in anticipation of having a more substantial part to play.
“Ranvir covers for Susanna Reid when she is away and this week has stepped into her shoes during half term. But she wants more and the bosses at GMB are clamouring to give it to her.
“She is a hugely popular member of GMB and keeping Ranvir on board is something everyone wants.
“Ranvir is a real talent and as well as her work on GMB, Loose Women and Lorraine, when she steps in to cover, she also has a new ITV gameshow launching this year called Riddiculous.

“However to keep her the job – and pay – will have to be right.”
In recent months Susanna, 51, who has hosted GMB since 2014, signed a bumper new deal with the broadcaster.
The Sun revealed in January how she was now the best paid woman on the box after signing the contract worth £1.1million.
Ranvir’s colleague Kate Garraway has also been promoted within ITV – and along with her work on GMB took over from Piers Morgan to host his Life Stories show.
She has also been charged with a brand new series on the broadcaster, called Life Changing Homes.
Ranvir joined GMB during the 2014 shake up of the breakfast programme with Susanna and Piers and was the Features correspondent.
Three years later she became the political editor of the show and started to spread her wings as one of the main presenters.
She also previously hosted a ten episode series called All Around Britain for Alex Beresford.
