Dancing On Ice’s Brendan Cole denies he’s got an advantage from Strictly training amid fix row
BRENDAN Cole has denied having an advantage over his Dancing On Ice co-stars thanks to his 15 years on Strictly Come Dancing.
The 45-year-old has received harsh criticism from viewers thanks to his dance background, with some going as far as to call it a fix.
But Brendan has insisted this isn't the case. He said: "I think everybody’s got their own strength and weakness.
"And you can’t compare apples with pears. Yes, I find it easy to pick up choreography because it’s something I’ve done for many years, whereas somebody else may struggle.
"There’s definitely a competition within a competition for the ones that have dance experience, of which there are a few."
Also competing in the ITV competition are professional dancer Regan Gascoigne and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt.
Despite having been happy to hit back at the judges on Strictly, Brendan revealed he's unlikely to question his feedback on Dancing On Ice because he's keen to improve his technique.
He told the : "It was my job to keep the judges in check [on Strictly] because that’s having your partner’s back...to defend them and not let the judges ruin their confidence.

“This is a different role. I want their knowledge. I want their expertise. I want them to tell me what I’m doing wrong.
"I want them to be pleased with what they see, but I also want them to give me their ideas of where they see me going in the future so that I can come back the week after and hopefully impress them.”
After Brendan's first performance on Dancing On Ice with Vanessa Bauer, head judge Christopher Dean, who scored him a 7.5, said: "That is the best first dance I have seen by a contestant in 14 series."
New judge Oti Mabuse, who gave her fellow ex-Strictly dancer an 8, said: "You were explosive, passionate and the two of you had chemistry."
Panellist Ashley Banjo added: "If that is where you are starting... I know you are going to be trouble."
